Enviro Software News - Update on Enviro Features

The Enviro development team continues to add new, useful features. Three of particular interest in the latest version of Enviro Data include a significant rewrite of the existing sample planning tool, major enhancements to the validation tool, and a feature to import data from a field sonde. The new sample planning tool lets you input your sample plan (stations, parameters, methods, QC, etc.) and then generate events from that plan. You can then automatically create a file for field data entry, and print chains of custody. At the end you can then run an automated completeness check. The improvements to the data validation are based on feedback from a number of chemist clients, and significantly increase flexibility and workflow. The new import feature takes time series data from a YSI Sontek probe and lets you configure the aggregation of the data into useful results for reporting. Contact Geotech for a demo if you would like a demonstration of these or other features.

Enviro Spase, our GIS tool, has recently been updated with several new features. For example, the Stick Log wizard has been expanded to allow display of lithologic data along with or instead of concentration data. The logs can be placed on the map next to the station locations, or can be offset to a predetermined location. They can be shown by depth or elevation, and there are a variety of options to display the logs in a way that is most useful for your projects. Another enhancement affects the various callout wizards. You can now specify the background of the callout box based on user-defined station groups, giving you a great deal of flexibility in highlighting the data in a variety of useful ways. These and other features, some that have been released and some in development, help make Enviro Spase an even more useful tool for displaying your environmental data.

Environmental Humor

Environmental problems are complex problems. Complex problems have simple, easy-to-understand wrong answers.

If the outcome of a test is likely to change, conduct the test only once.
